This serie of knives is a result of working of Pat Crawford and Bob Kasper.
Every model was meant to be combat one in the first place, but as long as these models are sold to civilians they're assigned for self-protection.

The offered serie consists of five models:
CRKT CR-6772 Small Crawford/Kasper
CRKT CR-6773 Large Crawford/Kasper
CRKT CR-6782 Small Crawford/Kasper
CRKT CR-6783 Large Crawford/Kasper
CRKT CR-6783K Large Black Crawford/Kasper

The first and the second models are plain-sharpened and differ from each other with their sizes. This means that CR-6772 is the compact version of CR-6773. An the difference of CR-6782 and CR-6783 from those two models is in wavy sharpening. CR-6773K is the same CR-6783, but with blued blade.

We are going to deal with CRKT CR-6772 Small Crawford/Kasper.
The blade is made of stainless steel AUS-6M, along the lines modified clip point. It's not good for domestic uses for two reasons: this steel belongs to soft types of steel, that means that blade keeps sharpening not very long comparing to hard types; the cutting point is not very large. So the blade is made for tactical actions, so because of softness of steel you won't get the tip of the blade broken, and the cutting edge won't be crumbling.
Two-way dowel is used for opening and that provides comfortable opening for left-handers and right-handers. In the handle the axis of the blade is connected with a Torx-screw and that means you won't get any problems if play appears.

The handle consists of two main elements: plastic facing from Zytel and billets made of steel 420J2. As for grasp, the handle is more intended for straight grasp, and notch confirms that. The notch allows secure holding. Thus straight grasp in this case is comfortable for stabbing and that adds another point for tactical knife using, especially for self-defence.

Let's look closer at the lock. This model has an InterFrame lock, which is a modification of Liner Lock. Besides, blocking system LAWKS was added, which blocks a half-beam of the lock and prevents it's sliding from the blade. That's plus, because subconsciously you get less frights with making hard stabs.
The clip is made of stainless steel, blued, that lets it to merge with the handle. There's only one disadvantage, it can't be moved, Though you can take it off if you turn 3 screws back.

In conclusion I would like to mention that this knife was made more for tactical needs than for domestic purposes.
The price veries from $40 to $65.

Hi, nice website and interesting comments about the CRKT knife. I prefer the classic types of knives but this one seems a good knife and looks good too. I never use a AUS-6M steel blade... ill must try it...
I think, I dont choose this for an "all day carry", I prefer the drop point blade.

bye bye
